Private Wellness Suites in the Hotel

To make us modern nomads feel at home and recharge our batteries while on the road, many hotels now rely on private wellness oases. Instead of public spa areas, wellness suites are an impeccable substitute for the private quiet zone.

Furka Suite

The operators of The Chedi Andermatt are also following the trend towards a spa within their own four hotel walls. An addition to the 103 spacious rooms is the Furka Suite, designed by the Swiss interior designer Beat Jäggi and equipped with furniture by the renowned architect Jean-Michel Gathy, who is also responsible for the overall design of the exclusive hotel. A private spa in the attic, which houses a sauna, a steam bath and a whirlpool on 68 m2.

Finnish polar pine wood was used for the bio-sauna. A glass front provides a view of the carefully designed interior, while the sprung loungers contribute to the wellness comfort in the cosy temporary home. The natural stones of the steam bath are a lighter variety of the Furka rock, which gives the suite its name with its impressive appearance.

Sauna with a view

The Swiss 4-star Hotel Waldegg in Engelberg has also transformed three rooms into private wellness oases this year: With comfortable sauna cabins integrated into the hotel rooms. As soon as you enter the "Deluxe Suite" rooms, the sauna cabin catches your eye like a design object. Skilfully used skylights set the scene for the private spa and generous glass fronts open the sauna to the room. From the sauna loungers, you can look out the window at the magnificent mountain panorama and the 3238-metre-high Titlis.

Private Spa at the Sorell Rigiblick

Two suites in the Sorell Hotel Rigiblick have also been complemented with a private spa by Küng. The suites have a free-standing whirlpool tub, a private sauna and a soothing steam bath with integrated experience shower. Stylishly extended and furnished by Burkhalter Sumi Architekten, the two newly renovated suites promise pure relaxation. A design highlight is the round window in the sauna, which offers a unique view of the city and the surrounding nature even while taking a sauna.

Offering a spa experience in absolute privacy, the all-suite boutique hotel in the countryside is definitely the only one of its kind in Zurich. The purifying warmth of the sauna, the soothing effect of the steam and the total relaxation of the whirlpool - every hotel guest will feel as relaxed as if they were in their own home for the duration of their stay.
