The Spa Sculpture

What eating together is to us, going to the sauna is to the Scandinavians - just like for a family from the community of Wollerau on Lake Zurich. Their sauna cabin in the basement of the house should therefore offer each member their own seat, despite the tightest of spaces. The solution? A hand-crafted wooden heptagon!

The desire to sit together around a fire seems to be innate in people - in the case of this family, it is the sauna stove. Like the wooden loungers, its protective railing is "folded" several times around the corner. The spotlights have also been set into the ceiling in a geometric arrangement. This heptagonal sauna almost resembles a sculpture!

Relaxation extra from the garden
But this private wellness area is never boring anyway: Because the midnight black joints give the horizontally panelled wood of the sauna walls a cosy glow. And the lady of the house also likes to add home-grown herbs from the garden to the water bath. An irresistible alliance of the highest craftsmanship and loving aromatherapy...

Family life is often turbulent, in the sauna everyone can find peace and quiet. In keeping with this aim, the wooden slats of the wall panelling here are horizontally and delicately panelled on the outside. The harmonious appearance of the cabin also succeeds because the owners have focussed exclusively on one material, the classic sauna wood, polar pine. The black joints and the profile-free glass front add a modern twist.
