Color therapy in the sauna
Color therapy, also known as chromotherapy, uses the power of color to promote emotional, mental and physical well-being. Each color has its own energetic vibration that can evoke certain emotions and states within us. For example, blue has a calming effect and can help to reduce stress, while red has an activating and stimulating effect. Yellow promotes creativity and self-confidence, while green stands for balance and healing.

The science behind color therapy
Colors are nothing more than light waves that vibrate at different frequencies. Each color has its own wavelength, which means that each color affects us in a specific way. These unique vibrations can be used specifically to support physical, mental and spiritual regeneration processes.
When white light hits a prism, it is split into the colors of the rainbow: Red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet. These spectral colors range from about 380 nm to 780 nm in the electromagnetic spectrum. Although visible light is limited, adjacent ranges such as infrared and ultraviolet are often also referred to as light. Each spectral color has a specific wavelength and therefore special properties and effects on the body.
What would a world be without colors?
Colors are not only aesthetic, they play an essential role in our lives and well-being. As Paracelsus said:
"Everything that lives, lives in light. Everything that exists radiates light. And this light is, at its root, life itself."
At the heart of color therapy is precisely this light - the source of all life. When light is refracted through a prism or a drop of water, a rainbow is created, the color spectrum. These spectral colors have a profound effect on our body, soul and spirit.
Electromagnetic spectrum
In the electromagnetic spectrum, the range of light includes wavelengths from around 380 nm to 780 nm. An exact limit cannot be specified, as the sensitivity of the eye does not decrease abruptly at the limits of perception, but gradually. The ranges of infrared and ultraviolet radiation adjacent to visible light are often also referred to as light
The individual colors of the spectrum have different wavelengths, i.e. each of these spectral colors corresponds to a very specific wavelength. This means that each color can be assigned corresponding effects and properties.
- Red: stimulating, warming, promotes blood circulation and stimulates the circulation.
- Coral: helps with emotional abuse and unrequited love.
- Orange: promotes creativity, fertility and brings joy.
- Gold: dissolves hardened structures and supports the discovery of one's own gifts.
- Yellow: has an uplifting effect, promotes digestion and brings lightness.
- Lemon: supports letting go and strengthens the immune system.
- Green: has a healing and balancing effect, supports the heart and nervous system.
- Turquoise: refreshing and clarifying, promotes finding the truth.
- Blue: calming, cooling, supports intuition and relieves pain.
- Indigo: antibacterial, stimulates the imagination and helps with introspection.
- Violet: purifying and spiritual, promotes spiritual development.
- Magenta: neutralizing and balancing, helps with shock and fainting.
- Pink: harmonizing and soothing, strengthens universal love.
Color therapy in the sauna
One of the most pleasant ways to benefit from color therapy is to take a sauna in colored light. Saunas have always been known for their relaxing and health-promoting effects. However, the addition of colored light opens up an extra dimension for body and soul.
When taking a sauna in colored light, you can select specific colors to achieve the desired effects. The colored light penetrates deep into the skin layers and triggers biochemical processes in the cells. For example, you can choose colors that stimulate your blood circulation, relax your muscles or ease your breathing. At the same time, mental clarity is promoted, the immune system is strengthened and inner peace is restored.
Combination of sauna and color therapy
The combination of sauna and color therapy offers a holistic wellness experience. The warmth of the sauna opens the pores and relaxes the muscles, while the colors specifically address emotions and create inner harmony. Especially in times of stress or emotional strain, color therapy in the sauna can help to release inner blockages and support the regeneration of body and mind.
